The Little Prince

On the 1st of December all the students of year 7 and 8 went to the theatre, the Orpheum in Graz, to see the play “The Little Prince“ by Sean Aita. The story of the play was based on the story written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and contained some modern elements.

The story is told by Flygirl, a pilot in the Royal Navy. One day she crashes her plane in the desert. There she meets The Little Prince, who wants her to draw a sheep. After a few tries he is satisfied and begins to tell her his story. He tells her that he lives on a tiny planet with two active volcanoes and a rose and that he left his planet to find a friend. On his journey he stopped off at several planets. On each planet there lived only one person. He got to know a king, a pop star, a business man and a professor. Then he came to earth, where he finally found a friend – a homeless girl named Foxy. In the end, Flygirl has to find a way to fix the engine of her plane and The Little Prince has to find a way to get back to his planet and his rose.

The play was really great and the actors were excellent. There were a lot of students in the theater, also from other schools, almost all the seats were occupied. For me it was the first time that I was in an English theater. I was very enthusiastic about it. It was a really exciting trip!
